Hit The Road In The Leather Twin Track

Time To Read: 8 minutes

To commemorate the launch of a very special piece, our creative team took to the mean streets of Manchester. Their brief? To capture the essence of The Leather Twin Track, a luxury leather iteration of the iconic TT - our most popular silhouette since it was launched more than a decade ago by our co-founder, the ever stylish and self-proclaimed people watcher Nick Ashley.

From early beginnings learning his craft under the stewardship of his mother, Laura Ashley, Nick’s career has seen him lead some of the world’s most prestigious brands and be responsible for a collection of our most iconic designs.

From early beginnings learning his craft under the stewardship of his mother, Laura Ashley, Nick’s career has seen him lead some of the world’s most prestigious brands and be responsible for a collection of our most iconic designs.

The Twin Track with its biker inspired style, is the embodiment of Nick’s philosophy; uniquely linking function with eye catching design.

“Everyone loves the Twin Track, it’s masculine, practical, ageless, a classic. Of all the biker jackets I’ve had (and I’ve had many), the Twin Track is without doubt the best in the business. It is so versatile”, he comments.

“Any changes made to these classics should be really carefully done, and for a reason, otherwise the delicate balance is upset. I learned to gather knowledge from my mother, the designer Laura Ashley. She taught me the principle of looking behind before going forward, the importance of evolution in design, then adding on the relevant technological updates in order to make the product more practical for today’s society,” Nick continues.

The Leather Twin Track Hit The Road In Manchester

Luxury Redefined...

Rightfully, this leather TT deserved the spotlight (with the help from a 1973 De Tomaso Pantera GTS and a NY inspired backdrop) for its story to be told...

The Northern Quarter in Manchester has regularly doubled as Manhattan over the years thanks to its striking resemblance to the big apple in terms of architecture. Eagle-eyed cinephile’s will recognise the similarities of authentic Victorian-era buildings, old-fashioned back streets and red-bricked building facades this side of the pond.

Hollywood has frequently rolled into town over the years for movies including Captain America, starring Chris Evans. 2004’s Alfie remake saw Jude Law filming its New York Scenes here in Manchester along with homegrown drama series Peaky Blinders and Netflix’s The Crown.

You can be transported across the Atlantic to downtown New York City, in spirit at least with our latest campaign.

Hit The Road In The 1973 De Tomaso Pantera GTS

A true collector’s piece, simply unrepeatable for so many reasons and is one of the very few RHD UK examples ever produced. Finding a RHD De Tomaso Pantera GTS is difficult, this model is even more unique (like our leather TT) thanks to its 33,000 miles from new and £80,000 refurbishment program.

TGX 37M was first registered on 30th June 1973 and records in its history file tell us this model was used for the Earls Court Motor Show in 1973. It was purchased new by a North London Building Contractor, Mr Barr who owned the car for three decades. Mr Barr covered little over 20,000 miles in 29 years of ownership, and in 2002 it sold the car to the second owner who used the car for various shows and events, selling it in 2009.

The car arrived with Classic And Sports Car for a program of re-commissioning work where modifications include removing the 350BHP Cleveland Ford 5.7 V8 engine and five speed ZF gearbox.

The De Tomaso Pantera is without doubt an incredibly sought-after car, a true collector's piece and one of the very few RHD examples ever built. The car is beautiful in terms of detail, the paint finish stunning, chrome work and the luxurious interior re-trim. Its fully rebuilt V8 engine offers outstanding performance, is ferociously quick, sounds incredible and the 5 speed ZF gearbox is seamless to use. This is a superbly presented car that offers a huge level of provenance through its low mileage, low ownership, level of originality, recent program of work and of course how rare it is in RHD format. TGX 37M is a true Italian - American icon combining the muscle power of an American V8 with signature Italian styling offering world class performance, it has a very special place in super car history. There will not be another one quite like this. Pictured here with our iconic Twin Track on the American style streets of Manchester.
